Power to the bladder. Lots of men aged 40+ have to face the problem of an overactive bladder. According to studies, about 50% of all men aged 60+ are affected by benign prostate enlargement. A weak bladder makes it impossible to enjoy a well deserved night's sleep, and the constant need to go to the toilet during the day soon becomes a nuisance too. The combination of plant-based substances from saw palmetto fruits, pumpkin seeds and willowherbs may have a positive effect on the urinary flow and the urge to urinate. The fruits of the saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) and pumpkin seeds (Curcurbita pepo) contain the phytosterols sitosterol and sitosterol glycoside, which may help stabilise prostate gland metabolism. Sitosterol is also contained in willowherbs (Epilobium sp.). This plant also contains the flavonoid myricetin, which is said to have antioxidant properties.
