Black Seed Oil and Ling Zhi for Lungs and Bronchi
Black seed oil contains several bioactive compounds like alpha-hederin and thymoquinone. Both substances significantly support the liver and immune system.

Support for Lungs and Bronchi

During the cold season, lungs and bronchi are particularly stressed by cold air and dry heating air. Dried-out mucous membranes become a playground for various germs that make us sick. Therefore, it's a good idea to support the lungs and bronchi in winter.

A particularly effective combination for respiratory support includes the mushroom "Ling Zhi" (Ganoderma lucidum; also known as "Reishi" or "Youngzhi") and black seed oil (Nigella sativa).

Black seed oil contains several bioactive compounds like alpha-hederin and thymoquinone.1,2 Both substances significantly support the liver and immune system. Especially for allergic respiratory problems like rhinitis or cough, the oil is very helpful. It inhibits inflammatory factors such as prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain reactions, swelling, and secretion; thus, allergic respiratory diseases are alleviated. At the same time, the immune system’s killer cells and T-cells are stimulated, enabling a quicker fight against pathogens. In addition to direct intake through capsules, the oil is also effective when added to inhalations to relieve respiratory issues. By protecting the liver from free radicals and thus from damage, black seed oil further supports the lungs. The lungs and liver are closely connected through the antioxidant L-glutathione, which is essential for both organs.

Ling Zhi

Ling Zhi is an Asian medicinal mushroom that is not suitable for eating due to its texture. It contains a substantial 400 active compounds of various kinds. Polysaccharides and triterpenes are particularly powerful components. Ling Zhi modulates the immune system, meaning it can downregulate an overactive system and stimulate an underactive one. This occurs primarily through the modulation of B- and T-lymphocytes and killer cells of the immune system. The mushroom also stimulates tissues that produce immune cells. It is especially beneficial against viral infections that often affect the lungs and bronchi.

Both substances are available in the Nikolaus Nature range under the names "NN Ling Zhi Spore Powder Capsules" and "NN Black Seed Oil Capsules!"

All meadow herbs are wild herbs – but not all wild herbs are meadow herbs
When you walk across a blooming meadow with open eyes, you'll see more than just grass and colorful flowers. You’ll discover a treasure trove of wild herbs – true power plants that have been valued for centuries and are now making a conscious comeback in our kitchens, teas, and even dietary supplements. ???? Wild herbs are pure nature – without chemicals ???? Wild herbs are edible plants that grow freely in nature, without being cultivated or farmed. You’ll find them in forests, on meadows, at the edges of fields, in the mountains, or even between paving stones – anywhere nature is left to itself. Wild herbs are known for being especially rich in nutrients and highly adaptable, as they thrive in natural conditions without fertilizer or breeding. The special thing about wild herbs? They grow entirely on their own, without human interference, fertilizers, or pesticides. In adapting to their environment, they develop robust compounds to protect themselves. These secondary plant substances are also incredibly valuable for us – they support many metabolic processes and can contribute to a strong immune system. ???? And it’s exactly this natural strength that we tap into at Nikolaus Nature: Many of our products contain plant extracts from herbs, roots, or seeds – because we truly believe nature holds the best answers for our health. ???? So, what are meadow herbs then? ???? Meadow herbs are a specific type of wild herb that grow in open, sunlit, and often nutrient-rich areas – meadows, in other words. They’re typical companions of grasses and have adapted to that specific habitat. In short: all meadow herbs are wild herbs, but they come from one special environment – the meadow. These resilient, often perennial plants grow in natural meadows, forest edges, or light shrub areas. Many were once considered medicinal plants and are still appreciated today for their valuable nutrients – such as bitter compounds, secondary plant substances, vitamins, and minerals. Popular meadow herbs include: ???? Nettle ???? Ribwort plantain ???? Daisy ???? Arnica ???? Willowherb ???? Peppermint ???? Dandelion All of them are little powerhouses with impressive effects. Whether found in forests, meadows, or roadside paths – wild herbs are full of vitality. And that’s exactly why their natural compounds play an important role in many of our products. The connection to nutritional supplements You don’t have to go out and collect herbs every day – though it can be a lovely way to reconnect with nature. Many of the nutrients found in meadow herbs are now available in high-quality, concentrated form in supplements. They're gently extracted, carefully tested, and processed in ways that your body can absorb them optimally. One great example is our NN Detox special, which contains wild garlic extract – a plant that grows naturally in light forests and has been used for centuries to support the body's natural detox function. Other plant-based ingredients like turmeric, yam, pomegranate, or black cumin also have stories much like those of meadow herbs: long respected, rediscovered, and now scientifically recognized. Back to nature – for more balance in daily life More and more people are seeking a natural lifestyle, health, and inner balance. Meadow herbs perfectly symbolize this desire. They grow quietly, strongly, and resiliently – often where you least expect them. And they remind us just how much power nature really holds. ???? With our products, we aim to make this strength available to you – through natural ingredients that gently support your well-being and help bring you back into balance.
